The Media Access Control (MAC) address is a unique 12-character identifier (e.g. 00-0e-68-22-28-90) for a specific network endpoint such as the network adapter located in WiFi devices.
If you are using some networks to register a WiFi device, you may be required to know the device's MAC address and pass it on to the administrator of the network you are trying to join so that certain services such as internet access can be enabled for your device.
The instructions differ slightly depending upon which Device and Operating system you are running.
